Local Charities Join Forces in Exciting New Lottery to Support Community
Three well-loved charities have united to bring a new fundraising initiative to the region. Pocklington Rugby in the Community (PRITC) and Pocklington Community Trust (PCT) have officially joined Dove House Hospice’s (DHH) Your Charity Lottery, giving local residents the chance to support vital community projects while being in with a chance to win big.
The partnership aims to provide much-needed, regular income for PRITC and PCT while continuing to
support the excellent care delivered by Dove House Hospice. PRITC, a proud recipient of The King’s Award for Voluntary Service, runs a wide range of community initiatives including:
● Monthly community lunches
● Free family fun day “Pockdown”
● Parkinson’s support coffee mornings
● The Annual Community Volunteer Awards
● Inclusive sports activities for adults with learning disabilities
● Support for other local charities and community groups
Pocklington Community Trust (PCT) manages Pocklington Community Hall and is leading the restoration of Burnby Hall, transforming it into a vibrant community centre and enterprise hub. The project will provide meeting space and office facilities to serve community groups and enterprise start-ups across the area.
“This lottery is a fantastic way for people to support local charities while also enjoying the excitement of weekly draws,” said PRITC Chair, Andy Bowden. “Every ticket sold helps us continue delivering essential community programmes.”
Entry to the lottery is just £1 per week, plus a number of bonus draws that can be paid monthly, quarterly, half yearly or annually. Prizes range from 80 weekly payments of £10; a weekly jackpot of £1,000; twice yearly draw of £5000 and up to £10,000 rollover prize.
