Burnby Hall March Update

The UKSPF funded emergency roof repair and lantern replacement work is now complete. The final phase of the project is to repair and clean the large skylight located below the
lantern and above the main stair case. This work will begin shortly.

Work to lift the crown of the trees at the rear of the property and clear the access road of
debris has now been completed. Work to cut the hedge line back to the property boundary
in the rear car park will begin next week. This will widen the car park by about 1.5 metres.
New energy efficient LED security lights have also been fitted to the front of Burnby Hall. At
the end of March, subject to weather conditions, contractors will begin painting the exterior
wood work of Burnby Hall on the front and side elevations of the building. These external
projects have been funded by Pocklington Town Council.

Internally, work has begun to re-enclose the former ceremony room to create a large
meeting room and a lobby to the main entrance to Burnby Hall . The project will also re-
instate the reception window in the former accounts office into what will become the charity’s
office and the hall’s main reception. In addition, two consulting/counselling rooms will also
be created. The project is funded by the Two Ridings Foundation and the Coop Community
Fund and should be completed by the end of April.
