Pocklington Heritage Festival 2024
Pocklington District Heritage Trust will hold its 4th Pocklington Heritage Festival on the 14th—16th November 2024 in the Community Hall.
The event features an all-day conference with distinguished speakers who are experts in their field and this year’s event focuses on the theme of the Anglo-Saxon and Viking eras in the Pocklington area as well as the rest of Yorkshire. This is followed by our annual Beanfeast which is a unique evening not to be missed and on the Saturday is a family day with fun things for children like face painting, sand boxes, book stalls, the Stamford Bridge battle society.

Heritage Beanfeast: ”a unique evening” Opens with good Viking food & bar, followed by a short talk, Viking Sagas read by Hayden Ashby, the main event— the legendary folk band ‘Shiftipig’.

A Free Family Day Sat. 16th November, 10am—4pm
Children & family activities including face painting, colouring and drawing, children’s games, archaeology sand pits with find the ancient artefact!. The 1066 Battle of Stamford Bridge Society. ‘pop-up’ travelling museum of local archaeological items sponsored by SPF grant funding, exhibition and book stall.
