285% increase in Community Hall booking hours since 1st October 2024
After taking over from East Riding of Yorkshire Council bookings for the Community Hall were around 7% of available capacity. We introduced a new hire tariff and a more user-friendly online booking system at the start of October 2024. The changes we introduced have made the community hall affordable and more accessible. This has resulted in bookings by the start of January 2025 rising to 20% of available capacity.
The community hall continues to attract new and regular hirers offering a range of dance and exercise classes along with other activities such as crafting and baby sensory sessions. We will continue to drive community hall usage forward into 2025.
During 2025 we will begin refurbishing the hall and introduce new equipment that will enhance the community hall’s functionality and operational capabilities and enable it to become a more flexible and well-equipped venue for an even wider range of activities. This process has already begun with the installation of new energy efficient LED lighting in the hall during December.
